NAGIX is Consist’s advanced digital document system. It enables organizations to efficiently and automatically transform mass amounts of documents into UA-compliant accessible PDFs, for the benefit of the visually impaired. NAGIX’s does so in accordance with laws and regulation mandating organizations to provide their customers with accessible forms and documents.

Using NAGIX’s robust accessibility technology, organizations can efficiently create accessible documents, enabling visually impaired individuals to receive an accessible version of any document – customer forms and documents, financial statements, public protocols, invoices and many others – instantly! 

The Process

Step one – the Design phase

In order to transform large volumes of documents (hundreds of thousands to many millions) into accessible PDF-UA documents which assistive devices can read, the NAGIX implementers perform a characterization of all the forms and documents which exist in the organization. These include, for example:

  • Invoices
  • Client documents – mortgage applications, bank statements, etc.
  • Public protocols
  • Financial reports and more. 


After this initial stage, ‘families’ for all documents are created, and for each family we implement relevant tags in the PDFs. These PDF-UA tags include:

  • Headlines and Paragraphs
  • Photos
  • Logos
  • Financial  figures (in the relevant currency – US Dollars, Euros, Pounds, etc.
  • Dates
  • Graphs and charts
  • Others  

The implementer then assigns each existing form and document to one of these families, and then defines in the NAGIX system the elements that comprise each document.  

In the final state of the Design phase, AMT files of the parent templates are saved to the NAGIX server. From now on, all documents produced by the organization pass through the NAGIX servers and are transformed into accessible PDF-UA documents – automatically and instantly.

Step two – the Production phase

A visually-impaired individual can simply connect an assistive device to the computer and listen to the content of the PDF-UA document. 

No need to call and request to receive an accessible version of any documents, as all documents produced by the institution are made accessible on the fly – automatically.
